Illnesses and Medicines

Sometimes during the school day it is required for children to take medication prescribed to them by a medical professional. This would include antibiotics, asthma pumps and others. If this is the case then a “Permission to dispense” form is required before we can dispense.

Please fill out the form linked below and return it to the office as soon as possible.

• Name of medication as stated on the prescription or packet.
• The dosage.
• The time period in which it is needed. We try to give medication during playtime or lunchtime only to minimise distruption to learning time.
• Indicate if the medication needs to be stored in the fridge.
• Any other precautions that may be required. For example some medications require a glove to be worn when handling them.

If your child has a short term or long term illness, please let the office know. For example a child with a condition that requires them to drink regularly throughout the day, if the teacher knows we can help encourage that child to drink throughout the day. “Your children are at the core of everything we do!”
